Prevention with Vitamin D
Another area of research in colon cancer prevention lies in the relationship between this disease and vitamin D. Researchers at the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO) has published a paper in the British Medical Journal, which has involved more than half a million people.
In the study, we analyzed vitamin D levels in blood and the number of people who developed colon cancer. The conclusions are clear: people with higher levels of vitamin D showed a 40% lower risk of colon cancer.
