Care Work Jobs becoming Talent Specific As Needs Grow

Saturday, May 8th, 2010

Care work jobs are becoming more specific everyday. There are fewer general listings for workers but an increasing amount of detailed requests for workers with specific talents or or asked if they are familiar with niche areas within the specific type of care giving.

Not only are children a special group but within that group are children who have learning disabilities, physical and emotional problems and then there are the plain old rowdy ones that just need some special care. These types of assignments can be just as demanding as dealing with senior citizens. The skill sets needed to cope with these varying care situations are as different as the individuals requiring the care.

Care jobs need multi-talented individuals who are versatile on a day to day basis as well as firmly rooted in a care philosophy that works with most any type of care recipient. Employers looking for in house care givers as well as agencies assigning at home care providers try to match up care givers based on not only their level of experience but also their types of real world experience with special areas of care jobs.

When you list your training and experience in your resume or CV be sure to point out specific areas where you excel. Your aren’t just a child care provider, you are specifically experienced with learning disable children or chronically ill children for example. These specifics are what will match you up to a particular employers need and get you the job over the general care provider.
