The treatment showed a significantly higher survival neuroblastoma, a type of childhood cancer – in laboratory tests, and they expect to ever be used to treat children with this disease.
The antibodies did not work so well with more aggressive tumors, but researchers then one of them accompanied with a peptide, a protein fragment-specific, and together they destroyed between 40 and 60 percent of these tumors.

About 60 percent of children with neuroblastoma can be cured with chemotherapy But for those children who do not respond well to this treatment, immunotherapy could become a vital new treatment option.
Immunotherapy is a relatively new form of treatment, but several monoclonal antibodies – proteins made as it can detect proteins attached to cancer cells and can be used to stop their growth – are already approved to treat adult cancers.
